Fujairah holds a unique position. It is the only emirate that lies on the eastern part of the Arabian Peninsula, along the Gulf of Oman, separated by the Hajar mountain range from the six other emirates that run along the Arabian Gulf.
Fujairah is 1450 kilometres square and extends from Ousla village to Dibba, a total of 70km with varying terrain across the semi-tropical climate; mountains and hills, plains, oasis and deserts. Her main cities are Al Fujairah, Dibba, Mirbeh, Al Bidiah and Masafi.
Fujairah's past trades were fishing and agriculture. Nowadays it's her port that commands the industrial centre-stage as the world's third largest tanker refueling and bunkering station. Over 40 giant tankers pass through the port daily! The world's largest livestock shipping companies also use the port as their main holding station for sheep and cattle for the entire Arabian Peninsula.
Fujairah offers some of the best snorkeling and scuba diving in the United Arab Emirates while the mountains provide the opportunity for off-road adventure and magnificently dramatic scenery. Get close to nature at Wadi Wurriyah's waterfall or try one of the numerous watersports available; swimming, yachting, surfing, deep sea fishing, diving or snorkeling. All this and beautiful clean beaches to chill-out on combine to make Fujairah a year-round holiday paradise.
